Candy Mold Tips

Candy Mold Tips

When you receive your molds:
Wash molds before using to remove any dust from manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping materials.

When you pour chocolate into your molds:
Make sure they are level or flat. Most of our molds do sit flat, but some will not. So use props to keep them level such as rolled up dish towels. Or spread rice or salt into a cookie sheet with a lip to keep the mold flat or in a certain position. The cookie sheets also make it easy to transport the molds into the refrigerator. If they are severely warped, try warming your oven to 100 degrees and setting the mold inside for a few minutes. Set a plate on it and see if it will go back to a flat shape.

Before you pour the chocolate into the mold, make sure you have a shelf in your refrigerator that is clear of items and ready to sit the molds or the cookie sheet flat on the shelf.

Never pour chocolate or any other materials into chocolate molds at temperatures higher than 160 degrees F. as it may damage and warp the mold. These molds are not for hot candy syrup.

Never place chocolate molds in a dishwasher. Hand wash only. And please DO NOT USE dish washing detergent! This can wash off the film that is on your molds!

Wash with warm water before storing - there is no need to wash them between pourings.

Allow to air dry before storing them.

Store them in Zip Lock bags to keep them clean and free of dust.
